SF Bay Area RTLers had a LEGOFest Gathering on Sat, Oct 10, because the LEGO Tour Truck was in town for the weekend. I took pics, but unfortunately only of the truck itself. I really wish I had taken more pics of the gathering before the truck tour, as there were many really cool MOCs at it, and the amount of trade materials brought by some people was truly amazing (including an entire Soccer set brought by Bill Katz to hand off to its new owner).
The pics I really wish I had taken were of the meeting after the truck tour. We reconvened in a church nearby to trade parts, but very few people showed up. However, a local boy saw the LEGO signs posted outside the church, and brought over a box of parts to trade/sell. It was really comical watching 8-10 people pore over his parts scattered on 2 tables for about 2 hours, yelling out parts they found that they knew others were looking for. Why didn't I take pictures of this? Well, because I was poring over those parts as intently as anyone else, and finished looking at them about 2 minutes before we had to leave ;-) Many of us found many parts we were looking for (some rare, some not), and the boy left very happy, with more money than he thought he'd get, I'm sure (as RTLers are a pretty moral lot, and we didn't shortchange him on values of parts). Hopefully other BA RTLers will have pics of the opening gathering posted later.
Anyways, here are the pics of the truck and surrounding area, as always, click on a pic to see the fullsize version.
